Ben Shelton Reacts To Girlfriend Trinity Rodman’s Charming Dance Celebration In USWNT Captain Debut vs Paraguay

Ben Shelton has reportedly been dating NBA legend Dennis Rodman’s daughter, Trinity Rodman, since March 2025. Rodman is the highest-paid women’s soccer player in the world after she signed a contract extension with the Washington Spirit of the NWSL during the offseason.

While Shelton is dominating the proceedings at the Australian Open, Rodman made her debut as the captain after donning the national colors for the first time in over a year and played an exceptional exhibition game against Paraguay on Saturday, as the hosts routed the South American nation 6-0.

Rodman celebrated her 12th goal in 48 national appearances with some exciting dance moves. After defeating Valentin Vacherot in the third round, Shelton took to social media to react to Rodman’s goal celebration.

“😂😂😂,” Shelton posted on his Instagram story.

“I think in the first half, there were definitely nerves. We were rushing a lot. I think there was almost too much space, that we were overthinking things,” Rodman said after the win.

The USWNT will play its final exhibition match against Chile in Santa Barbara on Tuesday to wrap up its first training camp of the new year.

Like Rodman, Shelton performed well in his game against Vacherot and has remained perfect through the first three rounds of the Australian Open.

Ben Shelton Explains His Message on the Camera Lens After Win Against Vacherot

Shelton won a total of 100 points in the third round, breaking the Monagasque twice in four attempts with 48 winners and an 81% first-serve win percentage, on his way to securing a place in the round of 16.

After winning the match at Margaret Court Arena on Saturday, the 23-year-old American wrote a cryptic message, “USA till it’s backwards,” on the camera lens, which left everyone baffled.

On Sunday, the American shared an Instagram story explaining his message.

“Literally no underlying message with my camera sign… a lot of young Americans killing it in Australia this year. And my girlfriend played for Team USA for the first time in a year this morning. Thought they deserved a shoutout,” wrote Shelton.

The 23-year-old will be in action next when he goes up against Casper Rudd in the round of 16 on Monday.
