There’s nothing better than sitting down, playing some EA College Football, and destroying your opponent using the triple option.
EA Sports announced that they will drop EA Sports College Football 26 on July 10, 2025, and fans are already clamoring about what teams they will play with. If you’re anything like me, you like to use playbooks with a wide variety of option plays, so here are the five playbooks I think will have the best option offenses in the new game.

Predicting the Five Best Option Offenses in EA College Football 26
1) Navy Midshipmen
There’s no question that the military schools were going to be on the top of my list. In EA Sports College Football 25, Navy had far and away the best option playbook in the game and I used it frequently. With so many different varieties of the triple option, this playbook keeps your opponent on their toes as they will never be able to predict where the ball is going to go.
2) Air Force Falcons
The Air Force’s playbook was elite in 2025, and I expect that to translate to 2026. Much like the Navy, the Falcons’ wide variety of option plays is enough so that you will never have to run the exact same play twice. The triple option is the focus of the Air Force playbook, but their read option plays are great as well.
3) Texas Longhorns
While the Longhorns don’t have many options for running plays, their RPO playbook is the best and deepest in the entire game. Much like real life, Texas has so much pre-snap motion in its playbook that it leads to some game-breaking RPOs. This is the best RPO playbook in ’25, and I expect it to be similar in ’26.
4) Army Black Knights
If the playbooks are similar to the ’25 addition of the game, then Army’s won’t be as in-depth as Navy’s or Air Force’s, but are still very good.

The Army has anything from veer-read options to triple options, and even a decent amount of passing plays. Overall, it’s a fun offense to use, and I expect it to be one of the best option playbooks.
5) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
This is my sleeper pick, but from playing ’25, Georgia Tech’s option playbook is underrated. Georgia Tech has some of the most option plays in the entire game, and if you’re using a fast quarterback, you’ll find success in it.
