Amidst the recent strings of players being traded ahead of the 2026 NFL season, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is all set to be traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, joining the latest list of trades happening in this seemingly busy phase of NFL recruiting.
Despite his split with Indianapolis, on-field, Pittman’s been quite consistent, as evidenced by his latest outing with the Colts last season. His 2025 campaign saw him garner 784 receiving yards while also accumulating 80 catches and seven touchdowns over the course of 17 games.
Much of Pittman’s on-field success could be attributed to his wife, Kianna Pittman’s, constant support. Often seen making appearances during match day, Kianna and her kids have always stood by Michael’s professional and personal stents. Kianna, in particular, often shares match-day snippets with her husband and children.
Kianna is also a social media influencer, best known for her YouTube channel “Michael and Kianna,” where the couple often posts engaging personal and familial content. Their YouTube channel has over 400k followers, while Kianna commands a little over 50k followers on her Instagram alone.
When Kianna is not making travel vlogs and lifestyle content, she is often seen making appearances on the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football show.
The couple who met back in high school supposedly got together when Michael gifted a Build-a-Bear along with a handwritten note as he snuck into Kianna’s room asking her to be his girlfriend.
During Michael’s college football stint with USC, the couple also moved in together, eventually tying the knot in August 2020.
Why Did Indianapolis Colts Trade Michael Pittman Jr.?
With the Steelers signing Pittman on a lucrative $59 million contract over a period of three years, the Colts are slated to receive a late-round pick swap in return.
Pittman’s departure from the Colts, where he spent half a decade, comes on the backdrop of the Indianapolis-based franchise re-signing wide receiver Alec Pierce, who inked a historic four-year, $116 million deal, becoming the highest-paid wide receiver free agent in the entirety of the NFL.
Given the monetary commitment the Colts have given to Pierce, it’s highly likely that Pierce would be the first-choice WR in almost all of their games. This puts Pittman’s departure in perspective, as who would want to sit on a clogged depth chart?
