According to a Nov. 20, 2025 report from The Sporting News and a July 26 report from Betches, the Olympic gymnast dated someone in the football world between 2021 and roughly 2024. The gymnast dated former USC cornerback Jaylin Smith, although details about the two’s relationship were sparse, with rumors of the two ending things privately.
Smith and Lee’s relationship went viral due to the difference in race between the two, which would explain why the couple has stayed private as much as possible for the duration of their relationship.
In 2026, the cornerback is heading into his second NFL season after spending his first with the Houston Texans.
Before his NFL career and for the duration of his relationship with Lee, Smith spent four seasons with the USC Trojans from 2021 through the 2024 season. Unlike many college football players, Smith never changed teams after joining the Trojans. Smith committed to the Trojans on June 30, 2020, after an impressive run with Bishop Alemany High School.
Smith’s hometown is Mission Hills, California. His run with the Texans appears to be the farthest he has lived from his hometown in his career.

Jaylin Smith, playing in his second season, is working under a rookie contract that was agreed upon after he was drafted in 2025. According to Spotrac, the deal is set to run through the 2028 season. Valued at $6.1 million, the Texans have agreed to pay an average salary of $1.5 million per season with $1.1 million guaranteed.
Contract negotiations are set to take place in 2027 and 2028, assuming Smith can impress the team long enough to get to that point in his career.
Suni Lee’s ex-boyfriend is still taking his first steps in the NFL, but the pressure will start rising for the cornerback over the next 12 months, with hints about his future likely to drop by the middle of the 2027 season.
