Roger Goodell is having a tough time at the 2026 NFL draft. The league’s commissioner was booed incessantly by fans when he first emerged to start the ceremony, and things have gone downhill ever since.
He appeared to embrace the boos, but was probably fuming inside, and he’s given fans more fuel to add to the fire ever since.
While announcing the New Orleans Saints’ move for Jordyn Tyson at the draft, fans noticed that the controversial commissioner seemed to be slurring, struggling to put the words together to tell the world about the Saints’ big moment.

One user suggested it could be a case of mental decline rather than substance use, writing:
“Everyone goes to booze but he’s also almost 70. Some people’s mental acuity declines faster than others.”

Roger Goodell’s PR Needs a Rethink
He’s never exactly been well-liked, but this NFL draft seems to prove that the commissioner’s popularity is at an all-time low.
Fans don’t seem to respect or trust what he has to offer, leading to a grave divide between what the fans want and what the league thinks they do.
