Wide receivers continue to be huge factors in whether league matchups get won or lost, and Week 8 is no different. There are plenty of matchups to look at to help pick the right wideouts to get another win as we approach the midpoint of the fantasy football season.
Wide Receivers to Start in NFL Fantasy Week 8
Michael Pittman Jr. (Colts)
Daniel Jones and the Colts have leaned heavily on Pittman in their recent run of success. The veteran wideout has ranked in the top 10 in catch rate over the past three weeks, and the Titans’ secondary is one of the worst in the NFL. Pittman should easily have a big game.
A.J. Brown (Eagles)
Brown is coming off a huge game against the Vikings after struggling for most of the season. This week, the Eagles take on the Giants, and when they played two weeks ago, brown grabbed six catches for 80 yards. Looks like a great spot to continue his momentum.
George Pickens (Cowboys)
With CeeDee Lamb back in the lineup for the Cowboys, he should draw Patrick Surtain II away from Pickens. Less attention for Pickens should lead to another big week as he and Dak Prescott seem to be clicking at a high level.
Wide Receivers to Sit
Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins)
At this rate, any Dolphins skill position player should probably not be starting in most leagues. There is a fair amount of uncertainty about whether Tagovailoa will continue to hold the starting job, and the Falcons’ secondary is much improved.
Tetairoa McMillan (Panthers)
Bryce Young doesn’t look like he is going to play in this game, which would give Andy Dalton the nod at quarterback for the Panthers. The matchup doesn’t give McMillan any favors either, as the Bills rank second in fewest passing yards per game. This game could get ugly fast, and keeping McMillan on the bench looks to be the best option for this week.
Wavier Wire Pickups
Tez Johnson (Bucs)
Johnson has quietly improved throughout the year and has become one of Baker Mayfield’s favorite targets. Now that Mike Evans should be out for extended period, Johnson could be in line to increase his targets on a weekly basis.
Jaylin Noel (Texans)
Nico Collins could miss Week 8 after he left Monday’s game with a concussion. Noel should step in after having a great game against the Seahawks. Look for him for him to continue to step up in Collin’s absence.
Bottom Line
Week 8 WR decisions could be the difference between a 4-point win and a 20-point loss. With the amount of weight that receivers carry in fantasy, make sure lineups are set with injuries and matchups in mind to safely win Week 8.
