What Team Is Stefon Diggs Going To? Top 3 Potential Landing Spots for Veteran WR

After just one season with the New England Patriots, Stefon Diggs was informed by the team that he will be released at the start of the new league year on March 1. News broke yesterday that the Patriots would be moving on from its leading WR last season.

Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans prior to the 2024 season, Diggs would join the Patriots in free agency the following offseason, signing a three-year, $63.5 million contract. Only $22.6 million of it was guaranteed, giving the Pats an easy option to move on from him after just a season.

With Diggs set to become a free agent in a week, he should have some interest after a season where he recorded 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns.

Three Potential Landing Spots For WR Stefon Diggs

    #1 – Buffalo Bills

Stefon Diggs thrived in Buffalo with quarterback Josh Allen from 2020-2023. He recorded four-straight seasons recording 1,000+ yard receiving yards. The Bills are still in need of WR talent and have many question marks at the position. Diggs may not be as productive as five seasons ago, but even in Buffalo, he would make a big difference.

    #2 – Kansas City Chiefs

Another talented AFC team with one of the best quarterbacks in NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs could take a look at adding Diggs. Tyreek Hill is a free agent, and if the Chiefs decide to want a receiver sooner (pending Hill’s knee recovery) maybe Andy Reid and the team add a veteran wide out in Diggs to help boost the offense.

    #3 – Las Vegas Raiders

According to overthecap.com, the Las Vegas Raiders currently have the third-most cap space at around $88 million. They’re in full rebuild mode with new leadership and will very likely select Heisman-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first-overall pick. The Raiders already have key staples built to their offense in running back Ashton Jeanty and tight end Brock Bowers. Adding a veteran like Diggs, who is one of the more talented WR on the open market, could give the team a weapon at wide out.
