Quarterback Jalen Hurts’ Philadelphia Eagles suffered a shocking 34-17 defeat against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football at MetLife Stadium. What’s more surprising was the Giants were able to take down the defending champions with the help of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who was only playing his third game of the season.
The most important part of the game came when Giants cornerback Cor’Dale Flott intercepted Jalen Hurts’ pass in the red zone. This ended Hurts’ streak of 305 consecutive pass attempts without an interception and kept the Eagles scoreless after halftime.
After the game, streamer Ninja, whose real name is Tyler Blevins, clowned Hurts for his lackluster second half play.
“Jalen hurts cannot throw,” he wrote on X.

Jalen Hurts Takes Accountability After TNF Loss vs Giants
The Giants should have been a no match for the Eagles but the second-half play turned the game on its head. There were several opportunities in the game where Jalen Hurts forgot to capitalize on. Regarding the interception in the fourth quarter by Cor’Dale Flott, who returned it by 68 yards and played hand in the fifth touchdown of the night for the Giants, Hurts said:
“Bad ball. Bad ball. I didn’t execute well enough situationally, and I obviously can’t turn the ball over in the red zone. I’ll look into the tape, and I know our team will as a group and we’ll get critical of ourselves on that and learn from it.”
Hurts also reflected on another opportunity earlier in the game when he overthrew a pass to uncovered DeVonta Smith on a potential long touchdown.
“Another opportunity to keep attacking them and capitalizing,” Hurts said. “I didn’t give him a good ball. It’s something that I own and something that I’m going to work on.”
The Eagles now face a short week before their next game against the Minnesota Vikings. Hurts is confident that they will be better in that game.
