The Las Vegas Raiders are navigating a troublesome 2025 NFL campaign with an overall record of 2-13, and naturally, there has been a lot of speculation around the Vegas-based side potentially firing their head coach.

Senior ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter recently shed light on what could happen to the Raiders’ head coach, Pete Carroll, following the team’s abysmal 2025 performance.

Upon being asked if the Raiders could part ways with Carroll, Adam Schefter on the Pat McAfee show started off by saying how the Raiders’ season hasn’t gone the way they would’ve hoped for. The insider further claimed that all the options pertaining to the $50M worth of NFL legend and his future as the Raiders’ head coach are still on the table.

“I think all options are on the table and I think obviously there’ll be conversations there as to what happens moving forward with Pete and his future”, Schefter stated on the podcast (0:24).

Schefter, whilst addressing the entire situation around Carroll’s future, also stated how the Raiders’ head coach deserves a tremendous amount of respect. He also emphasized it will be interesting to see how the Las Vegas-based franchise approaches the situation in the offseason while the outcome remains uncertain at this point.

“Again, another one of those guys (Pete Carroll) that I think deserves a tremendous amount of respect and we’ll see how they handle that in the offseason. But I think that one certainly is up in the air”, Schefter further elaborated (0:33).

Pat McAfee also weighed in on the entire situation, also highlighting how the Raiders have parted ways with all of their coordinators, and it won’t come as a surprise if they can Carroll, whilst also opining that a lot will rest on new part-owner Tom Brady.
