Mike Vrabel’s stance on the controversy including him and the popular NFL reporter, Dianna Russini, has changed drastically in the last few days.
While the Patriots’ head coach first called the situation “laughable” and claimed that their interaction together at a resort in Arizona was innocent, Vrabel is now making statements that many analysts and fans perceive as “soft confessions.”
If his new stance from the press conference statements on Tuesday wasn’t clear enough, the announcement of Vrabel missing the Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft to seek counselling in order to become the “best husband” and father has given fans more confirmation on his relationship with Russini.
“PR move to distract. Gotta sell the myth that, to them, “family is more important than football” Very good coach & football guy, but probably a complete asshole in the real world. No way was this is first affair – getting away with it previously caused him to be so brazen,” one fan reacted.
“Hypocrisy out in the open is a wonderful thing to observe. He ironically needs to listen to his own advice to a Christian player,” another fan wrote.
”Being the best husband and father you can be would entail not cheating on your wife and mother of your children, Mike. So that ship has already sailed,” another fan pointed out.
“One of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. Let the man deal with his wife out of the media spotlight. This is ridiculous,” another fan shared their thoughts.
He risked it all, including his reputation just to get some strange mud for his turtle. What an idiot,” another fan added.
”What an incredible man. He’s willing to sacrifice rounds 4-7 in order to be with his family. What an incredible sacrifice,” another fan said.
Cam Newton Shares Thoughts on Mike Vrabel’s Dianna Russini Scandal
While Dianna Russini has had to quit her job from The Athletic, Vrabel is seen mostly untouched in this whole situation as the NFL decided to not review his conduct after the scandal.
Talking about the controversy, Cam Newton shared his thoughts and made fun of how Vrabel said he doesn’t want to be a distraction, highlighting that it’s already been done.
Newton also pointed out that Vrabel coming to talk to the press on a Tuesday of the draft week was strategic as after a couple of days everybody would be talking about the event in Pittsburgh.
”Vrabel got grace a player would NEVER get.” Newton said.
Newton further added that if a player like Patrick Mahomes had infidelity issues, the Chiefs star would be erased.
