Is Dianna Russini Fired From New York Times? All We Know About Popular Insider’s ‘Investigation’ Amid Viral Snaps With Mike Vrabel

The New England Patriots head coach, Mike Vrabel, has been in the news over the last few days. Page Six posted pictures of Vrabel with Dianna Russini as they were seen holding hands and hugging at a luxurious hotel.

Vrabel and Russini have issued separate statements on the subject, but it has done very little to stop the discussions around them being spotted together.

“A Page Six spy tells us that the pair — both married to other people — had breakfast on the patio of the hotel restaurant around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, before spending a leisurely hour or so together at the pool and lounging side-by-side in a hot tub,” Page Six reported on April 7.

Amid the ongoing speculations about the nature of their relationship and more details on them spending time together in Arizona, fans have been wondering what would happen to Russini’s career as a senior NFL insider.

There’s an ongoing investigation into the matter, and more details are bound to come out over the next few days. As of now, Russini will not be reporting until the investigation concludes.

“An unnamed source with knowledge of the situation told the Post that ‘new details from the Page Six report and information from the investigation raised additional concerns that are now being reviewed further. The investigation is ongoing,” as per NBC Sports. “Her coverage is being reviewed. That process is expected to take time. She will not be reporting in the interim.”

Vrabel played for the New England Patriots from 2001 to 2008 and won three Super Bowls. He became the head coach of the franchise in 2025 and took his team to the Super Bowl in his first season, where they lost to the Seattle Seahawks.

Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini Issued Statements

Vrabel believes that the pictures are being misinterpreted and the situation is being blown out of proportion. In his statement, he claimed that it was nothing but an “innocent interaction” that was being unnecessarily dissected.

“These photos show a completely innocent interaction, and any suggestion otherwise is laughable. This doesn’t deserve any further response,” he said.

Russini, in her statement, claimed that the pictures don’t represent reality and that it’s common for journalists to interact with sources outside of stadiums.

“The photos don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day. Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues,” she said.

One of the reasons why the pictures took over social media and led to widespread discussions is that they’re both married to other people and have kids in their respective relationships.
