The Green Bay Packers are on the hunt for a playoff spot and a division title, but an injury to Christian Watson may put a wrench in those plans. The star wide receiver has been listed as questionable for their Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears.
The Packers have been hit by the injury bug hard, especially the wide receiver room, with Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden and Watson all missing time. Watson returned to action in Week 8 after a lengthy layoff, but his status is once again up in the air.
What Happened to Christian Watson?
Watson suffered a chest and shoulder injury during Week 15, which saw him exit the game against the Denver Broncos. He was soon sent to the hospital to see the extent of his injuries, and it turned out to be not as serious as many had expected.
Because the injury was not that serious, Christian Watson has been deemed “questionable” for the Week 16 showdown against the Chicago Bears.
Will Christian Watson Play This Week?
For now, it is still not certain whether Christian Watson will play in Week 16, even though his injuries aren’t that serious and the Packers are in a must-win situation.
Watson was a non-participant in Tuesday’s walkthrough, but was limited in their subsequent two sessions.
That being said, the Packers and Watson are actually pretty optimistic about the receiver’s chances of playing on Sunday.
“I’ll probably just have something in my pads for game day just to be cautious,” he said. “Honestly, it’s feeling pretty good for everything considered, so I think it’ll be all right for the game.”
Should I start Christian Watson or Jaylen Waddle This Week?
Christian Watson will likely play, though for those fantasy managers who also have Jaylen Waddle, the big question is, who to start?
The two are quite similar, but in terms of touches, Waddle gets more with the Miami Dolphins, as opposed to Watson, who is more of a big-play threat.
Watson is expected to put up 9.8 fantasy points in half PPR leagues, while Waddle is projected to have 11.38, making the Miami receiver a better choice.
