OKC Thunder star Jalen Williams went to the locker room with roughly four minutes left in the third quarter against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The former All-Star grabbed his right hamstring before heading into the exit tunnel. Williams had 28 points, five assists and four rebounds in 20 minutes before leaving the floor.
Williams suffered a right hamstring strain in mid-January before returning on Monday against the LA Lakers. It will be a big blow to the Thunder if he will miss more games due to the same injury.
The defending champs eagerly anticipated Jalen Williams return due to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s absence. SGA has not played since early this month due to an oblique injury. The reigning MVP will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break.
Oklahoma City is 1-2 heading into its game against Phoenix without the superstar point guard. OKC’s win during that stretch was when Williams returned for the game against the Lakers.
Jalen Williams did not look rusty against the Lakers, finishing the game with 23 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 24 minutes. He was even more impressive against the Suns. Williams went 11-for-11 before missing his last attempt. OKC led 103-69 when he left the game for good.

The OKC Thunder built a 112-80 lead after three quarters against the Phoenix Suns. Jalen Williams’ impressive night was a key reason the Thunder had no trouble holding on for the win.
Following Williams’ exit, the Thunder still coasted to a comfortable 136-109 win. Jared McCain, Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe, Kenrich Williams and Jaylin Williams provided the scoring punch. OKC’s top-ranked defense relaxed midway through the fourth quarter as the team marched to an impressive win.
