Warriors’ Al Horford exited Friday’s game against the Timberwolves, adding to Golden State’s injury woes. Entering this contest, the Dubs were without Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Moses Moody among active rotation players. Horford started at center for the team, so it was an even bigger blow.
According to the Warriors. Horford was ruled out due to right calf tightness. It’s a concerning issue given it’s a non-contact injury and has the potential to rule him out for a lengthy stretch.
The 39-year-old had provided excellent minutes at the five on both ends over the past few weeks since Curry went down with a runner’s knee injury in late January. In March, Horford averaged 12.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 blocks on 37.0% 3-point shooting.
The Warriors center had three points and a rebound in 4:55 minutes. Golden State trailed 15-14 when Horford left. They were down three after the first quarter.
