“Watch Out for KD’s Burner Tonight”: NBA Fans Mock Kevin Durant and Rockets After Trailing 0-2 Without Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves

When Kevin Durant suited up in Game 2 of the Lakers-Rockets series, it appeared that Houston was in prime position to steal homecourt advantage at Crypto.com Arena. However, when the dust settled Tuesday night, Durant and his squad found themselves in an 0-2 hole after the Lakers won 101-94 despite the absence of injured guards Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

This latest loss by the Rockets prompted some fans to troll Durant on social media by evoking the allegations that he was behind the infamous gethigher77 burner account. Other fans questioned KD’s leadership and brought up other highlights and lowlights from his past.

“WATCH OUT FOR KD’S BURNER TONIGHT. THE LAKERS HOLD SERVE AT HOME AND LEAD THE SERIES 2-0”

“Bron taking this personal! KD needed the warriors to beat bron!!”

“They claim we won game one bcos KD didn’t play lol. KD played and story remains the same lol”

“KD really is alone out there. He wasn’t wrong for talking s*** about his teammates… just early.”

Meanwhile, there were netizens who expressed their disappointment with Kevin Durant’s supporting crew in Houston.

“double kd & let everyone else crash and burn on they own. Amen can’t shoot, Sengun can halfway shoot & can’t defend & lowkey plays sloppy. Lakers in 4”

“Rockets shot 24% from three. You can’t beat the Lakers shooting like that”

Though Durant (23 points, six rebounds, four assists) gave a spirited effort, he and the rest of his Rockets squad were extremely sloppy with the ball on multiple occasions. The Lakers frequently double-teamed Durant, forcing him to throw passes that would sometimes go sailing out of his teammates’ hands. In total, the Rockets committed 15 turnovers, with Durant tallying a team-high nine errors.

As the series shifts to Houston, the Rockets will have to figure out how to better take care of the ball and facilitate scoring opportunities if they are to notch their first win in this series.

Kevin Durant Achieves Postseason Milestone Amidst Rockets’ 0-2 Series Deficit

If there was any silver lining in Kevin Durant’s Game 2 performance, it’s the fact that he continued to achieve milestones in his storied career.

According to ESPN insights, Durant became just the second player in NBA history to “score 20 points in their postseason debut with 5 different franchises.”

The first player to do so was James Harden, a former teammate of Durant in Oklahoma City.
