Washington Wizards vs Golden State Warriors Preview

The Washington Wizards finally found some relief on the court, snapping a frustrating 16-game losing streak with a 133-110 victory against the Utah Jazz in a tanking showdown. Undrafted rookie Julian Reese had a career-high performance, leading the team with 26 points, while Jaden Hardy added 21 points.

Washington has been among the league’s worst teams for some time and is currently out of playoff contention. The focus has shifted toward developing younger players after trades involving Anthony Davis and Trae Young at the deadline. The Wizards could return to competitiveness next season and may finally get out of their season-long haze.

The Warriors dealt with several injuries throughout the season and seem destined for another play-in appearance. The Dubs finally won back-to-back games after a long time and are coming off a much-needed 109-106 win against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday. Down 13 points, they staged a stunning comeback in the final quarter to secure the victory. Gui Santos led the team with a career-high 31 points, while Brandin Podziemski added 22 points.

Golden State could move further up in the standings, as it is just 0.5 games behind the ninth-placed Portland Trail Blazers and one game behind the eighth-placed Los Angeles Clippers.

Washington Wizards vs Golden State Warriors Prediction

The Washington Wizards had a one-time resurgence, but the Warriors are in higher spirits. Steve Kerr will be banking on his young core to provide the energy that has been lacking for quite some time. The oddsmakers also favor the Warriors to get a win at home, and we expect the same. Golden State should cover the spread in a game where the total exceeds 232.5 points.
