Scott Foster was at the center of another controversially officiated game on Wednesday between the Rockets and Timberwolves after he ejected Naz Reid in overtime. The Timberwolves potentially had a chance at two free throws after Reid was seemingly fouled by Alperen Sengun. However, Foster whistled it for an offensive charge instead of a blocking foul.
The Timberwolves even reviewed it and replays showed Sengun moving his feed at the last minute, but the decision stood. Reid complained about it to one of his teammates, but Foster believed he was going at him. The Timberwolves’ backup center was then issued a technical and then ejected.
Reid and the Timberwolves staff plead their case, saying he wasn’t engaging with Foster. However, the veteran ref stood on his call. The decision left NBA fans fuming at Foster. Here’s how they reacted.
“Suspend Scott Foster,” one fan said.
“Can’t wait till Scott Foster never officiates again,” another wrote.
