The Golden State Warriors are heading for the play-in tournament once again, and all eyes are on Steph Curry’s health. At one point in the Warriors-Kings game on Friday, Curry was seen hobbling after a collision with Kings guard Devin Carter, causing fans to worry about his condition as the play-in approaches.
After the Kings defeated the Warriors 124-118, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr gave an update on Curry’s status.
“I was worried it was his knee. I just saw him limping. He came over and said, ‘I’m fine. It’s just the ankle…He just tweaked it or something. He’s fine.”
Kerr also stated that the plan is for Steph Curry to play in their final regular season game on Sunday. However, given that the LA Clippers happen to be a potential opponent of theirs in the play-in, the multi-titled coach admitted that they won’t be showing their entire playbook so that they don’t get heavily scouted.
With their season hanging in the balance as they enter the play-in, the Warriors need every ounce of brilliance that Curry can offer them. Going through an injury-riddled season, Curry mustered just 11 points on 3-for-8 shooting from the field against the Kings.
The outlook on the Warriors’ postseason looks grim, but ever the competitor he is, Curry is expected to kick things into overdrive when the chips are down.
Steph Curry Comments on Injury Scare in Loss to Kings Ahead of Play-in
When asked to comment on his physical condition, Steph Curry appeared to brush off his latest injury scare.
“I’ve been dealing with ankles forever,” he told reporters after the game.
Curry added that he wants to play his typical 30+ minutes when the Warriors take on the Clippers Sunday night.
