Philadelphia 76ers Injury Report: Massive Joel Embiid Update, Paul George’s Final Status vs. Bulls (Mar. 25)

The Philadelphia 76ers take on the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday with major injury updates in the spotlight surrounding stars Joel Embiid and Paul George. Embiid is in contention to return after missing the last 13 games due to a right oblique strain. Embiid is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision.

Meanwhile, George’s return is confirmed after he finished serving a 25-game suspension due to banned substance abuse. Here’s what George said ahead of his return (via ESPN):

“The most difficult thing is when your body isn’t where you know it needs to be or where it once was. That leads and bleeds into the mental side of things, knowing that you’re limited. But for me, I feel good, my body is feeling great. Mentally, I know I’m capable of doing what I can do and what I’ve been able to do on the court for years.”

Meanwhile, Quentin Grimes is questionable to return after missing the last game against the OKC Thunder due to illness.

The Philadelphia 76ers, however, will remain without Tyrese Maxey. The All-Star is dealing with a right finger tendon strain. He’s getting re-evaluated this weekend or next week, according to coach Nick Nurse. Maxey has been out since Mar. 7.

Meanwhile, Kelly Oubre Jr. will miss his eighth straight game. The starter is dealing with a left elbow strain. Johni Broome also remains out as he recovers from right knee surgery. Tyrese Martin is the other absentee, but he’s not injured. Martin is with the G League team.

The Philadelphia 76ers would welcome the returns of Joel Embiid and Paul George at this time, as they have 10 games to make a push for the playoffs. They can finish as high as fifth as they trail the 40-31 Raptors by 1.5 games, while standing at 39-33 in seventh.

How to watch Chicago Bulls vs. Philadelphia 76ers game?

Chicago Sports Network and NBC Sports Philadelphia will locally televise the Bulls-76ers game. NBA League Pass will stream the contest online via NBA League Pass. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET.
