Nuggets Fans Traumatized After Jamal Murray’s Deeply Concerning Ankle Injury Follows With Near 40-Point Loss

The Denver Nuggets suffered a huge blow during their Friday night home game against the New York Knicks. Jamal Murray injured his ankle and had to leave the game before halftime, leading to the Nuggets eventually sustaining a 142-103 blowout loss.

The injury happened late in the second quarter while Murray was defending OG Anunoby in the paint. As Murray landed, he rolled his left ankle after stepping on Nikola Jokic’s right foot. He immediately showed signs of serious pain, staying on the floor and clutching his leg for a while before being helped off the court.

The horrific visuals, understandably, had Nuggets fans worried.

“Every single 4-6 week injury this team has suffered has started out with this same report. We’re cooked,” @elwaypls said.

“One comes back, another goes down,” @GingeDiff said.

“From Championship Dreams ➡️ Probably a 1st Round Exit,” @soomasreh218 wrote.

“Ain’t no f**king way. 💔 I’m in complete shambles rn. Not Jamal Murray. Please 🙏🏽,” @Tatianaclinares wrote.

“Denver 4-6 weeks nuggets,” @MileHighAVENUEe said.

“Pray for him so he can return soon, otherwise, the season is over. I don’t remember a season like this with so many injured players, fix that (especially in back-to-backs),” @nuggetsdubyeah wrote.

The Nuggets let out an update for their star guard, claiming that Murray’s return is questionable.

“Injury Update: Jamal Murray is questionable to return to tonight’s game with a Left Ankle Sprain,” Nuggets’ X account reported.

However, Murray did not return to the game, finishing the night with 12 points and 3 assists in 18 minutes.

Jamal Murray gets injured following Aaron Gordon’s return

The Denver Nuggets have had a really tough time with injuries this season. Key starters like Nikola Jokic, Christian Braun, Cameron Johnson, and Aaron Gordon have all missed significant stretches of games.

Aaron Gordon’s return on Friday finally brought some relief, marking it the first time since Nov. 12 that the Nuggets had their entire starting lineup back on the court together.

Unfortunately, the moment didn’t last very long as Jamal Murray went down with an injury during the game. While there are no updates yet, it is safe to assume that he will also be on the sidelines for at least a few games.
