The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers resume their conference semis series in Friday’s Game 3 at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The Knicks enter Philadelphia with a commanding 2-0 series lead after a 39-point blowout in Game 1 and a six-point win in Game 2.
New York displayed its clutch prowess in the last matchup to get away with a sneaky win that could have gone either way. The Knicks limited the 76ers to only three points in the final 6:52 of the fourth, while overturning a three-point deficit and winning 108-102.
Jalen Brunson was lethal in the final quarter, scoring eight points on 3 of 4 shots. He had 26 points and six assists. Meanwhile, OG Anunoby had another massive two-way game as he tallied 24 points, five rebounds and four steals.
However, Anunoby ended the game early with nearly three minutes left after suffering a right hamstring strain. He remains questionable to play in Game 3. Josh Hart is also questionable as he’s dealing with a left thumb sprain.
On the other hand, the 76ers couldn’t prevail down the stretch, but had a solid bounce-back game despite the loss. Playing without Joel Embiid, who was ruled out hours before tipoff, the 76ers led for most of the four quarters until they couldn’t generate any offense late. Tyrese Maxey finished with 26 points and six assists, while Paul George and Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 19 apiece.
The 76ers continue to face the possibility of playing without Embiid again, who is questionable due to ankle and hip injuries.
