Ever since Bronny James entered the NBA, he has been constantly ridiculed for the perception that he only got drafted because of his connection to LeBron James. During a particularly bad loss suffered by the Lakers on Thursday, fans mocked Bronny anew as he turned the ball over in a back-to-back sequence.
At one point in the third quarter of the Lakers-Thunder game, Lakers head coach JJ Redick had Bronny bringing the ball down the floor. Thunder guard Cason Wallace hounded the second-generation athlete even before he crossed halfcourt, and when Bronny picked up his dribble, Wallace’s on-ball defense forced him to throw a bad pass that Isaiah Joe intercepted for a fastbreak dunk.
On the next possession, Bronny James had to get past Cason Wallace again. This time, Wallace slapped the ball away; in the ensuing fastbreak, he got the offensive rebound and the bucket to go.
The clip of Bronny’s consecutive turnovers went viral, with fans piling on the 21-year-old guard.
“Nepo baby showing his talent”
“He’s such a waste”
“I can’t stop laughing”
“Let him cook”
“G league at best”
“ENTITLEMENT..ENTITLEMENT….ENTITLEMENT”
The turnovers committed by Bronny James encapsulated the Lakers’ sluggish performance against the Thunder on Thursday. In front of their home crowd at Paycom Center, the defending champions routed the Lakers 139-96.
With just a few weeks left before the playoffs, the purple and gold squad committed 18 turnovers and shot a measly 23.3% from beyond the arc. On top of this, Luka Doncic had to leave the game due to a hamstring injury.
Viral Clip Shows Bronny James Having Lighthearted Moment With Father and Member of Coaching Staff
Earlier this week, Bronny James was having a lighthearted moment as the Lakers were on the more favorable end of a blowout.
In a viral clip from the Lakers’ blowout win over the Wizards, Bronny is seen having a conversation with his father LeBron and doing a special handshake with a member of the coaching staff.
In the Lakers’ 120-101 victory over the Wizards, Bronny finished with six points, one rebound, one assist, and one steal in over 25 minutes.
