LA Clippers Injury Report: Nervous Kris Dunn Update, Kawhi Leonard’s Status vs Jazz (Jan. 27)

The LA Clippers face a nervous wait over the condition of key players ahead of their Tuesday clash against the Utah Jazz. Despite posting an 8-2 record over their past 10 games, the Clippers have a bevy of injury concerns heading into the matchup. Four players who are prominent in the team’s rotation are listed on the injury report, headlined by Kawhi Leonard and Kris Dunn.

Leonard is questionable with a bruised left knee. He carried the same designation in the previous two games but ultimately played, helping the Clippers earn wins over the Lakers and the Nets. Leonard logged under 26 minutes in both outings, scoring 24 points in LA’s 111-104 win over the Lakers and 28 points in a 126-88 victory over Brooklyn. The team continues to manage his minutes with an eye toward a healthy playoff run.

The six-time All-Star missed 10 games over a 20-day stretch in November, during which the Clippers went 2-8 before he dealt with ankle and foot injuries. He returned in early December and played 23 games across December and January, a span in which LA posted an 11-12 record, before sitting out three games due to the knee issue.

In a league full of superstars and offensive firepower, Kawhi Leonard continues to be overlooked. While he may not be his past self, he remains quietly one of the best two-way players in the league. He is averaging 28.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game across 32 appearances. The team needs him to extend his recent hot streak as they look to stack more wins and stay afloat in the playoff picture. They currently sit 10th in the Western Conference at 21-24.

Aside from Kawhi Leonard, Kris Dunn is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. The veteran guard exited Sunday’s game against the Nets after tweaking his ankle. If he does not suit up, Jordan Miller and Cam Christie would be in line to replace him.

Meanwhile, Bogdan Bogdanovic continues to miss time with a hamstring injury. Derrick Jones Jr. (knee) and Bradley Beal (hip) also remain out.

The Clippers, who have gotten their season somewhat back on track after a brutal early stretch, have fortunately been healthy with Leonard so far. He has played 31 games already, missing only 13. Last year, Leonard appeared in just 37 games due to various injuries.
