Former NBA player Kenyon Martin called out a production member of Gilbert Arenas’ “Gil’s Arena” podcast on Tuesday. Martin unloaded on the man named Suge, who allegedly mocked his stuttering in a video.
Martin said before bringing out the man he wanted to come face-to-face with:
“I brought this person into my home, right? Had this person around my wife, my kids, right? Treated with nothing but respect. … When people tell you be careful who you bring into your inner circle, be careful who you bring into your home, this is the situation that I’m speaking of right now.”
The No. 1 pick of the 2000 NBA draft brought out Suge to show him the clip while his co-podcasters fiddled in their seats, almost seemingly hesitant to watch the interaction.
Kenyon Martin continued after playing the video:
“That’s something I have stated time and again on this couch, sensitive subject. Sensitive subject for me, right? I drew a line in the sand a long time ago with this. There is no apology ever that, as an adult, I would accept for this.”
Martin shared that the man apologized to him while they were in Gilbert Arenas’ house, but Martin said he “blew” him off. The former New Jersey Nets star was adamant that he would not have accepted the apology had he known what Suge was apologizing for.
After the tense moments, Kenyon Martin told him not to see him again and added:
“This is what disloyalty and people who don’t respect you look like. People like him. Be careful who you invite into your home.”
Martin is known for standing on his ground both as a player and as a podcaster. It wasn’t surprising that he confronted the man whom he said had allegedly mocked his stuttering.
