Before the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade took social media by storm around midnight on Tuesday, a three-team deal involving Julius Randle had gone down. While opinions on Randle’s new landing spot vary, one individual in the 12-year pro’s camp is happy with how things turned out.
Sharing a photo of her husband in a Brooklyn Nets uniform, Kendra Randle expressed her delight on Instagram.

Just two seasons ago, Randle was wearing the blue and orange as a member of the New York Knicks. Randle’s stint with this team has been the strongest stretch of his career; in his five years with the Knicks, the 6-foot-9 forward averaged 22.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.
On top of this, all three of Randle’s All-Star appearances came when he was a mainstay of Madison Square Garden. From 2019 to 2024, Randle helped the Knicks embark on two playoff runs.
Next season, Randle will make his way back to New York City, this time as a veteran presence with the Nets. Randle was shipped to Brooklyn in a three-way trade that saw big man Nic Claxton move to the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves (Randle’s team of the past two seasons) will receive the Nets’ No. 33 pick in this week’s NBA draft, as well as guard Mouhamadou Gueye.
Analysts have characterized this deal as a way for the Timberwolves to shed salary. An hour after ESPN’s Shams Charania broke the news of the Randle trade, he reported that free agent Ayo Dosunmu would be signing a five-year, $112 million contract with the Wolves.
Viral Clip Shows Jaden McDaniels’ Reaction To Julius Randle Trade
Shortly after the Julius Randle trade was reported, a clip of Jaden McDaniels finding out about the news made its rounds on the internet.
In the viral clip, a fan approaches the Timberwolves guard and mentions the Randle news item. This prompts McDaniels to get on his phone, while calling the development “crazy.”
Just two months ago, McDaniels and Randle were helping the Timberwolves take down the Denver Nuggets in the first round. They ended up running into the San Antonio Spurs, who finished their second-round series in six games.
