Jayson Tatum’s Camp Reportedly Took Issue With Jaylen Brown’s Comments About His Final Celtics Season

After months of trade speculation, Jaylen Brown was finally traded by the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. He will certainly be missed by the club and their fans, and he is exactly the kind of player the Philadelphia 76ers needed. However, the drama in Boston continues even after the blockbuster Brown trade.

A reported rift between Brown and his co-star Jayson Tatum has long been a topic of conversation among fans, impacting the Celtics in a negative way. Those rumors were further fueled by a recent report from NBA insider Brett Siegel.

The 2025-26 season was a sensational year for Brown, who averaged a career-high 28.7 points per game and led the Celtics to a 56-26 record while Tatum sat out with an ACL injury. However, Brown’s “passive-aggressive behavior” like calling this season the “most fun” he’s ever had and his “slight under-the-radar jabs” rubbed the front office the wrong way.

“Between his ventures in streaming, which began over the last year, and describing the 2025-26 season as the ‘most fun season’ of his career, one that he spent the vast majority of playing without Tatum by his side, sources said multiple members of the Celtics’ front office became frustrated with Brown’s passive-aggressive behavior and slight under-the-radar jabs in his own comments on these streams,” Siegel wrote.

LeBron James’ Friend Mocks Jayson Tatum’s Farewell Message to Jaylen Brown

While many fans are openly wondering if the rift between Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is real, LeBron James’ close friend and media personality CuffsTheLegend has made a scathing accusation against the Celtics star.

Though Jaylen Brown has moved on from the Boston Celtics after nearly a decade, Jayson Tatum made sure to express his gratitude to his former teammate through a post on his personal Instagram account. In it, he looked back on their history and thanked him for the memories.

“9 years! Forever grateful for all that we accomplished together, for pushing me to be a better player. From first round exits to winning a chip together I’m thankful for it all. Nothing but love and respect for you as a player and as a person! Looking forward to see how you attack this next chapter of your career and wish you nothing but the best for you! Continue to be special!,” Tatum wrote.

It was a short, sweet message from Tatum. However, CuffsTheLegend slammed the post, calling it “phony and disingenuous” and accusing Tatum of being “backdoored” Brown.

“I’m a big Tatum guy but this is soooo PHONY & DISINGENUOUS #BackDoor 🚪,” he posted.

He went even further, claiming Tatum and Brown crossed paths at a nightclub in Cannes, France, and acted like complete strangers.

“What Jayson Tatum is not telling you is.. he was in the same nightclub with Jaylen Brown just last week in Cannes in France and they walked right past each other and they both acted like they had never met before,” Cuffs wrote. “My “sources” were right there and SAW IT ALL and texted me right afterwards.. 100% FACTS! ☘️🤷🏽‍♂️”

While Tatum and Brown were never incredibly close, they always did whatever was asked of them on the court. With today’s media landscape, it is almost impossible to bury these types of stories, and they will only gain traction now that Brown is no longer in Boston.

Ultimately, every workplace has different personalities who don’t always click, and this was clearly one of those situations. Brown is brash, intense, and vocal, while Tatum is quiet, stoic, and prefers to let his play do the talking.
