Jaylen Brown’s New Rant on Refereeing Targets Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Inevitable Second NBA MVP Win

Jaylen Brown has not been a happy camper after the Boston Celtics blew a 3-1 series lead against the Philadelphia 76ers. Anyone who has watched his recent live streams knows that the former Finals MVP isn’t done venting his ire on NBA officials.

On Wednesday, Brown was back at it again. This time, the reigning NBA MVP caught a stray as Brown lambasted the officials anew.

“There’s an inconsistency, and it’s there. You called me for all these offensive fouls, that’s not the reason why we lost, but Shai is about to win his second MVP with the same move.”

Jaylen Brown, of course, is by no means the first to call out Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on matters of physicality. For the past two years, fans and pundits alike have complained that SGA and his OKC Thunder squad have gotten away with dirty play while also drawing a high volume of fouls.

For that matter, Brown has had a bone to pick with officials ever since the conclusion of the Celtics-Sixers series in the first round. He publicly criticized Joel Embiid for flopping and claimed that referees were targeting him, whistling fouls even when he supposedly had his hands up.

At this point, though, all Brown can do is watch as the remaining eight teams slug it out in the conference semifinals. He’s also not wrong when he says that the crowning of Gilgeous-Alexander as a two-time MVP is imminent.

Jaylen Brown Fined $50,000 for Fiery Comments Towards Officiating in First-Round Series

The NBA did hear Jaylen Brown loud and clear, and unfortunately for him, the league office did not take too kindly to his words.

On Wednesday, it was reported that the Celtics star was fined $50,000 for his incendiary comments towards officials.

Brown acknowledged this in his latest live stream, saying that he didn’t intend to step out of line; ironically, he followed this up with his brand-new rant about the double standards concerning SGA.
