Jaylen Brown Slams Lu Dort’s Hacking After Getting Smacked on His Head Like a “Grandkid”

Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown and OKC Thunder defensive ace Lu Dort went head-to-head on multiple occasions on Wednesday. Brown, despite Dort’s bruising defense, helped his team rally from a 13-point deficit to win 119-109.

On his Twitch channel on Thursday, Brown discussed the game with his fans, particularly the alleged lack of fouls called on the Thunder. He showed a clip where he scored a layup against Dort and said:

“Damn. They weren’t about to call this one, too. Bro smacked me on top of that head. … Look at this. Bro smacked me upside the head like I’m one of his grandkids or something, and they weren’t about to call it.”

The play Brown showed to his fans started with Jayson Tatum inbounding the ball to him. Brown, closely watched by Dort, muscled his way to the basket for a layup. The referees gave a late foul to Dort, a sequence that the play-by-play callers promptly emphasized.

Jaylen Brown has been critical of the officiating when playing against the Thunder. Roughly two weeks ago, he blasted the defending champs, particularly Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, for the “manipulation” of the game and the referees for awarding OKC’s “foul-baiting.”

Brown thought he didn’t get the same whistle when guarded by Lu Dort, a player who has been criticized by fans for allegedly playing dirty.

Jaylen Brown Led Celtics’ Third-Quarter Turnaround Against Lu Dort and Co.

Jaylen Brown’s 3-point play against the OKC Thunder was part of his searing 14-point output that turned the game around for the Boston Celtics. After trailing 53-49 at halftime, Boston won the third quarter 39-30 to lead 88-83 heading into the final frame.

Lu Dort, Cason Wallace and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander struggled to contain Brown in the third canto. Boston’s offensive execution, particularly its pick-and-rolls and pin-downs, helped the All-Star guard dominate the period.

The Thunder tried to regain the lead in the last 12 minutes, but Boston’s defense and timely shotmaking carried the Celtics to the finish line. Brown finished the game with a team-high 31 points to go with eight rebounds, eight assists and two steals.
