“It’s time for change”: Michael Jordan’s Major Announcement After Scripting NASCAR History

Michael Jordan has another three-peat win. The basketball legend made NASCAR history on Sunday when Tyler Reddick topped the Circuit of The Americas, the driver’s third win to open a Cup Series.

While walking to meet and celebrate with his team, Jordan responded when asked about the historic win and 23XI Racing’s dominant start:

“It’s time for change, time for change, and the guys feel the same thing. Tyler came in with the most pressure, I guess. Everybody expected him, or he had a chance to win three in a row, that’s the hardest to win.”

Reddick, who finished last season winless, opened the year with a Daytona 500 victory two weeks ago, prompting wild celebrations led by Michael Jordan. Jordan was in disbelief following what he said was a “gratifying” victory by the team.

A week later, Reddick crossed the finish line first in Atlanta, becoming just the sixth driver with back-to-back wins to open a Cup Series. On Sunday, chased by last year’s Rookie of the Year Shane van Gisbergen, Reddick held on from pole position to secure the historic win.

Michael Jordan vowed to be in Phoenix for the next league, hoping to see Tyler Reddick drive his team to even greater NASCAR history.

“I Just Put up the Money!”: Michael Jordan Credits 23XI Racing Co-Owner Denny Hamlin for Team’s Historic Success

Michael Jordan was the biggest reason the Chicago Bulls were a dynasty in the ‘90s. As 23XI Racing’s co-owner, he deflected the credit to co-owner and racing legend Denny Hamlin for the team’s historic NASCAR success.

Jordan replied when asked about what the trophies and the records meant to him as an owner:

“I’m proud of the team that we put together. … A lot of credit goes to (Hamlin) because he’s the mastermind behind finding Tyler (Reddick), (crew chief) Billy Scott and all that. Look, I just put up the money! … Winning. That’s what it’s about. Winning.”

Interestingly, Denny Hamlin also competes in the NASCAR Cup Series for Joe Gibbs Racing. He finished nine places behind Tyler Reddick on Sunday. Jordan, though, gave Hamlin a big shout-out for their co-owned team’s historic success.
