Golden State Warriors vs LA Clippers Preview and Prediction

The Golden State Warriors wrapped up their regular season on a rough note, going just 6-17 over the final six weeks. Even with Steph Curry back in the lineup, things didn’t improve much, as the team lost three of the four games he suited up for. That late slump dragged them down to a 37-45 finish, leaving them 10th in the Western Conference.

The LA Clippers weren’t exactly dominant either, finishing the last month at 8-8. While they were a .500 team during this stretch, their situation could have been better if not for some frustrating losses to struggling teams like the Sacramento Kings and the New Orleans Pelicans (twice). Even one win in any of these games would have pushed them into the 8th spot, instead of 9th, where they now need to win two straight games to make the playoffs.

Looking at their head-to-head matchups, the Clippers clearly had the edge. After dropping the first game 98-79, they bounced back to win the next three games 103-102 on Jan. 5, 114-101 on Mar. 2, and 115-110 on Apr. 12, taking the season series 3-1.

Right now, the Clippers simply look like the more stable team. They are relatively healthy, dealing with no new injuries other than usual. On the other hand, the Warriors are struggling with multiple rotation players being out. Even though key names like Curry, Al Horford, and Kristaps Porzingis are expected to return, they are set to be put on a minutes restriction by Steve Kerr.

Home court also plays a big role here. The Clippers have been solid at home with a 23-18 record, while the Warriors have struggled on the road at 15-26.

Prediction: Expect the Clippers to win by 6 points.
