Klay Thompson is all over the news after his breakup with Megan Thee Stallion, and now, a viral clip supposedly shows his former running mate Steph Curry weighing in on the matter.
If this clip is to be believed, Curry is happy that Thompson’s relationship with the Grammy Award-winning rapper has now come to an end. The clip shows the Golden State Warriors star giving his two cents in a live social media session, all while he’s driving a car.
“Y’all thought my boy Klay was a simp, but he far from that. He a dog. City boys up 1.”
However, all indications point to this clip being a deepfake, as no major news outlets has confirmed that Steph Curry ever said these comments in a live session. What is well-documented, however, is a comment made by Curry in a Complex interview last summer.
“I don’t ever speak on people’s relationships, but I’m happy for them. I just want to see him happy. That’s my biggest thing. I just want to see Klay happy.”
This past weekend, Megan posted a statement confirming that she had broken up with the Dallas Mavericks guard. Prior to that, the rapper had fired off allegations that Thompson had cheated and mistreated her in the course of their relationship.
Steve Kerr Offers Insights on Steph Curry’s Future Amidst Rumors That He’s Stepping Down as Warriors HC
Aside from Klay Thompson, another key figure in Steph Curry’s Warriors legacy has been head coach Steve Kerr. Amidst rumors that Kerr is stepping away from his post, the multi-titled coach made an interesting comment on Curry’s future.
“I think Steph’s going to play another couple of years and I think we can still do some good things together,” Kerr said in an interview with The New Yorker.
The Warriors appear to be at a crossroads as Kerr mulls his departure and Curry comes closer to the end of his career.
