Caleb Wilson Makes Uber-Confident Michael Jordan Comparison After Landing With Bulls

As expected, North Carolina star Caleb Wilson went no. 4 in this year’s NBA draft. Now that Wilson is set to put on a Chicago Bulls jersey, he has his eyes on meeting an unbelievably high standard in the Windy City.

Shortly after sharing the stage with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Wilson made a bold comparison by claiming that he could ascend to the heights of the legendary Michael Jordan.

“I want to be the greatest of all time…Y’all got one of the goats in y’all history, so it’s time for another one.”

To mention one’s self in the same conversation as Jordan is an audacious move, but there are a few details that embolden Wilson to make this comparison.

For one, both he and MJ thrived with the Tar Heel program; though Wilson spent just one year in North Carolina (compared to Jordan’s three seasons), the 19-year-old stuffed the stat sheets by averaging 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.

Like Jordan, Wilson had to watch a handful of other players getting taken ahead of him in his draft class. Now, the 6-foot-10 forward will get the chance to prove his doubters wrong by having a standout rookie season with the Bulls.

Jordan ended up winning the 1985 Rookie of the Year award, the first of many individual accolades in his storied career. From the looks of it, Wilson is determined to replicate the success of His Airness.

“See Red!”: Caleb Wilson Posts Childhood Photo Showing His Bulls Fandom

Shortly after he was selected fourth overall by Chicago, Caleb Wilson decided to take a trip down memory lane.

In a pic that he posted on X, a young Wilson is wearing a Bulls hoodie as he smiles for the camera.

This is a full circle moment for Wilson, who will now have the chance to put on all sorts of Bulls apparel as he begins his NBA career.
