Over the years, Ayesha Curry has made remarks about her relationship with Steph Curry that raised eyebrows among fans, but on Wednesday, she offered her clarification.
During an episode of the “IMO” show hosted by former first lady Michelle Obama, Ayesha addressed her past comment about athletes not being her type when she was younger and clarified that Steph had always been her type.
She explained that she simply did not think Steph would be interested in her, and fans appreciated her for clearing things up. When asked about her “no athlete rule,” she said:
“That is true. A very disrespectful comment, also, on my part. I had very textbook misconceptions, … ideas of athletes. I was a theater nerd, so I think I was protecting my peace.
“This is another thing that gets misconstrued. People, for some reason, think that in the past I’ve said that he wasn’t my type. What I was saying was I didn’t think I was his type. Because this was Mr. Cool. And so I kind of sold myself short and thinking, like, there’s no way — he must just like me as a friend.”
Here’s how fans reacted to Ayesha’s remarks.
“W apology ayesha,” one said.
“Your apology is accepted. Go and sin no more,” another said.
“See this is what I like to see. Look at the Currys man ❤️ true love,” another commented.
