Anthony Davis Throws Major Shade at Rob Pelinka After Lakers Mortgage Future For Walker Kessler

Los Angeles Lakers vice president Rob Pelinka has received flak from fans about his recent decisions, and now, Anthony Davis has also joined the bandwagon. The Lakers have lost Marcus Smart, LeBron James and Luke Kennard, the biggest pieces of the 2025-26 playoffs, in the last day or so. While fans on social media berated the team management for breaking up the entire team, Davis could not stop himself from expressing his emotions.

When a fan on social media detailed the entire saga of the team’s failure in finding a fitting center, Davis seemingly agreed with the take. The user took a dig at Pelinka for not getting the required pieces when the team was a championship contender around 2020, amid the team’s recent move to land Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler. The user wrote:

“Anthony Davis practically begged Rob Pelinka to get him a CENTER alongside him for YEARS… Rob didn’t budge

AD got back doored.. Bron lowkey got back doored.. and NOW he wanna be a competent GM now that the duo that won you a championship is gone.. you can’t make this shit up LOL”

Davis dropped a few laughing emojis, seemingly agreeing to the theory in the comments section:

Though the Lakers’ championship duo is now on different squads, sources suggest that there might be a possibility that Davis and James team up again, probably with the Golden State Warriors this time.

Wizards reportedly take Anthony Davis off the market

Although there were several rumors of Anthony Davis getting involved in a trade once again, ESPN analyst Ohm Youngmisuk, in his latest piece, has suggested that the Wizards might not be ready to part ways with the forward/center. Davis came to Washington during the mid-season trade period in the 2025-26 season, reeling from his injuries.

Although Davis’ hand injury kept him off the roster for the entire season, the Wizards still believe they can form a winning squad with him and Trae Young, now that they have the 2026 top overall pick, AJ Dybantsa. The future looks bright in the capital.

However, that might make the LeBron James to the Warriors rumor null and void, given Davis was the biggest attraction for the 4-time NBA champion if the front office looked to offer the center a deal. The Heat’s prospects still look strong, as they have around $18 million in cap space until they hit the first apron.
