“46 Million Dollars, and You Can’t Play”: Ric Flair Doubles Down With Another Brutal Shot at Luka Doncic as Lakers Sink Into 3-0 Chokehold

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair doubled down on his criticism of Luka Doncic after watching the Los Angeles Lakers fall behind 3-0 in their conference semifinal series against the OKC Thunder.

After the Lakers lost Game 1, Flair called out Doncic on X, asking him to get in the game, citing his $46 million salary. Flair also referred to the Lakers guard as a “lame duck,” saying that he wishes for him to be traded.

Flair kept his criticism going on Saturday, saying that he was disappointed by Doncic’s absence from the lineup.

“There is only one word that I can possibly say, and that’s DISAPPOINTED,” Flair wrote. “46 million dollars, and you can’t play. OMG, I would jump off the Empire State Building with a parachute for 46 million dollars a year, and I don’t even know how to pull the cord to open it- but I would take my chances.”

Luka Doncic has been sidelined since April 2 due to a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. The Lakers guard underwent platelet-rich plasma treatments in Spain, hoping to speed up his recovery, but has yet to return to the fold.

He was the Lakers’ leading scorer in the regular season, averaging 33.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game, shooting 47.6%.

“It’s very frustrating”: Luka Doncic on being sidelined amid the Lakers’ playoff struggles

Luka Doncic has expressed frustration with his injury, with the LA Lakers facing elimination without him.

“It’s very frustrating,” Doncic told reporters, per ESPN. “I don’t think people understand how frustrating it is. All I want to do is play basketball, especially this time. It’s the best time to play basketball. … it’s very frustrating seeing what my team is doing. I’m very proud of them. It’s been very tough just to sit and watch them play.”

Doncic told The Athletic on Wednesday that he had started running. The Lakers will face the Thunder in Game 4 on Monday with their season on the line.
