Three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano has purchased an ownership stake in a Ford dealership in Huntersville, North Carolina. As part owner, the $24m Mustang maestro (as per Celebrity Net Worth) will be working closely with Stacy Cowen, the general manager of the store.
But why Huntersville? Logano told Automotive News that Huntersville was his hometown, and over the years, he had developed a relationship with the staff of the dealership. The driver is known to have borrowed cars from the store for marketing events and partnered with them for giveaways through his Joey Logano Foundation.
“As a race car driver, you have an unfair advantage in business because I’m able to pretty much connect with anyone I want to connect with, which is a great tool to have,” Logano said. “The goal here is to take what Huntersville Ford already is in the Krause Auto Group, that’s grown an incredible business, and try to add a little bit more to it.”
Joey Logano is gearing up for the season-opening Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. The race, which was originally supposed to happen on Sunday, February 1, was postponed twice due to inclement weather in Winston-Salem. It will now be held on Wednesday, February 4.
“Moving the Cook Out Clash to Wednesday, February 4, gives us the best opportunity to hold this event with fans at Bowman Gray Stadium while allowing the City of Winston-Salem to dedicate all of their resources to respond to the needs created by this historic weather event,” said Justin Swilling, Project Lead, Cook Out Clash.
Joey Logano won the inaugural Busch Light Clash back in 2022, when it was held at Los Angeles’ Memorial Coliseum. The Clash moved to Bowman Gray only last season, making 2026 its second straight year in effect.
Practice and qualifying are set for 1:30 pm ET, and the Last Chance Qualifier is set for 4:30 pm ET. The Cook Out Clash kicks off at 6 pm ET on FOX with live updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Joey Logano Comments on the Upcoming ‘Chase’ in the Championship Format
Several NASCAR stalwarts, such as Mark Martin and Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., have praised the new 10-race Chase format that will be used in the 2026 postseason. However, Joey Logano kind of liked how things were before.
Previously, the drivers could make the playoffs by winning any regular-season race and advance into the playoffs through elimination. After that, it was all about the Championship race at Phoenix. Logano won all his titles under this system.
But that system is gone. Weighing in on the same, Logano said:
“Personally, I was one of the rare people that liked the old one just from a fan perspective. I enjoyed it. But if the majority doesn’t like that, then, sure, we’ll change it. And we’ll go race another way. And that’s OK with me, too. That’s kind of where I’m at with it.”
The first points race of the 2026 season is scheduled for February 15 at Daytona International Speedway. Notably, this marks the 68th running of the crown jewel Daytona 500. Fans can watch the race live on FOX, starting at 2:30 pm ET.
