Bobby Earnhardt Breaks Silence On Dale Jr. Potentially Bringing Him To NASCAR With JR Motorsports

Bobby Earnhardt has addressed his possible step up under his uncle Dale Jr.’s JR Motorsports. He said he has not had a direct talk with his uncle, Dale Earnhardt Jr., about anything, but noted that Dale Jr. knows his name is out there.

Bobby has worked in the ARCA Menards Series off and on for years. He debuted in the series and also made a few starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2017, but struggled for top finishes. Last season in ARCA, Bobby came back after a break from regular racing. He ran two races in 2025, at Bristol and Kansas. Both ended in crashes and DNFs, leaving him with tough results and questions about his future.

During a recent interview, Frontstretch’s Mark Kristl mentioned JR Motorsports has not competed in ARCA for a while, but wanted to know if Bobby had talked to Dale Jr. about it.

“Ain’t really talked with him about it and I’m sure he knows about it. he’s mentioned me on his podcast for the with the the Bristol race and Kansas race. So, I know he knows I’m out here, but no, I haven’t talked with him,” Bobby Earnhardt said (03:07 onwards).

JR Motorsports made a brief run in the ARCA Menards Series with six total starts between 2008 and 2015 with Landon Cassill, Danica Patrick and Cole Custer.

When asked about a Dirty Mo Media (media house for the Dale Jr. Download and podcasts) appearance, he said it is up to Dale Jr. to reach out.

“It’s in his court. He can call me,” Bobby Earnhardt said.

Bobby is set to start his first full season in ARCA next month with Rise Motorsports. The team named him as a full-time driver for the series that runs about 20 races.

JR Motorsports Boss Dale Jr. Has An Eye For Spotting ARCA Talent

Dale Jr. started JR Motorsports in 2005, but the team expanded to the NASCAR Truck and ARCA Menards series. The 51-year-old also mentioned he looked into the ARCA series to pick talented drivers last year.

“There’s enough talent in the series to challenge these drivers, so you really understand who can really have that ability and who can make it happen,” Dale Jr. said.

But JR Motorsports also used to compete in the series, at least for a little bit. The team made two ARCA starts in 2008. Landon Cassill in the No. 88 Chevrolet gave it a solid seventh-place finish in the team’s debut in the first race at Daytona in 2008.

JRM skipped 2009 but returned to Daytona in 2010 when Danica Patrick drove the No. 7 car and finished sixth in her stock car debut. The team stayed out of ARCA from 2011 through 2014. It reappeared in 2015 with 17-year-old Cole Custer in the No. 00 Chevrolet. Custer ran three races, including the Pocono doubleheader. His Pocono victory was JRM’s first and only ARCA win and also its last race in the series.
