“Mauled Twice With No Flags”: Multiple Missed Pass Interference Calls On Ryan Wingo Draw Fan Fury

Texas Longhorns wide receiver Ryan Wingo is having a hard time in the field against Texas A&M Aggies on Friday.

Wingo has already been fouled multiple times early in the game, as the Aggies’ defenders have been noted for illegally interfering with passes thrown Wingo’s way. As you can see in the video below, the Aggies tried to get ahold of Wingo before the pass even came, and remained in contact throughout the pass attempt.

In another play, Wingo was once again covered by a defender who made two early contact before another of Arch Manning’s pass went down.

This illegal contact by Aggies defenders against Ryan Wingo was noted by the internet.

“If that’s not DPI then the foul is meaningless. 🙄” one fan wrote.

“Barely halfway through the quarter and Wingo has been mauled twice with no flags…,” another fan commented.

“bro texas is getting robbed rn,” one fan reacted.

“Offensive player pulling him in and initiated contact quit bitching pussy,” another fan reacted.

“Maybe wingo armed the DB because he clearly grabbed the collar of his jersey? I for one think refs should call extremely obvious defensive penalties but just me,” one fan wrote.

“this def could have been called,” one fan added.

Why Aggies Defending Ryan Wingo This Way?

Ryan Wingo is the Texas Longhorns’ best wide receiver as he leads the team with 736 yards on 46 catches, including six touchdown catches. He is averaging 16.0 yards per reception, and most of the Longhorns’ passing game relies on the shoulder of him and DeAndre Moore Jr., who has caught 37 receptions for 528 yards and four touchdowns.

This is why the Aggies are trying to make sure to neutralize Wingo’s offensive skills and run away with missed calls in the first place.

The game against the Aggies is an important one for Texas. While there is no chance for them to feature in the SEC Championship game and so the playoffs, they would like to end the year beating the team that is unbeaten so far this season.
