What Xaivian Lee Brings to Florida

A talented point guard from Princeton. Lee, a 6’4″ junior from Toronto, averaged 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game this season, garnering First Team All-Ivy League honors for the second year in a row.

Lee decided to transfer after considering the NBA draft process. He will take over for All-America guard Walter Clayton Jr., who has exhausted his eligibility and is moving on to the NBA. Lee’s acquisition is expected to strengthen Florida’s backcourt, following in the footsteps of successful mid-major transfers such as Clayton.

Historical accomplishments highlighted Lee’s career at Princeton. He became the first player in program history to have a triple-double, scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists in a victory over Saint Joseph’s. His well-rounded skills and strong basketball IQ make him an excellent addition to any team.

Lee’s skill set fits perfectly with Florida’s offensive strategy. His ability to pass the ball, paired with his scoring and rebounding abilities, gives the Gators a powerful backcourt presence.

Lee’s experience and leadership are likely to be vital to Florida’s quest for another national championship.

Florida values dynamic guards who can score and distribute, and Lee fits the bill. His transition vision, half-court control, and defensive intensity add to the Gators’ backcourt’s overall balance.

Expect him to excel under Todd Golden’s system, which emphasizes versatility, high intelligence, and selfless ball movement.
