Cameron Boozer has had a dominant season as a freshman at Duke, leading the Blue Devils to being the No. 1-ranked team in college basketball and one of the No. 1 seeds coming into March Madness.
While everyone knows his parents, former NBA star Carlos Boozer and his ex-wife, Cece, as well as his twin brother Cayden, who he is teammates with, what about his girlfriend?
He is dating his high school sweetheart Yva Lauren Cao, who actually went to a different high school. She went to Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, a Catholic all-girls school in Miami, while he famously went to Christopher Columbus High School and led the team to a national title.
Not only did she go to a different high school, she is also a cheerleader for a rival ACC school, the Miami Hurricanes.
Both Cameron and Yva are originally from Miami. When the Boozer Twins were selecting which team they would be attending, it was a choice between their hometown Miami or their dad’s alma mater, Duke, and they chose the latter. However, as Cameron Boozer went to Durham, Yva stayed in Miami.
Despite their schools having a sort of rivalry over at the ACC, Yva is often seen cheering for her boyfriend from the stands.
While she is not as famous as Cameron Boozer, Yva is also good at her craft, being named on the Miami Herald cheerleading First Team-All Dade honor when she was still in high school and is known as a top cheerleader.
She even led her school to a FHSAA state championship in cheerleading and competed in the UCA National Cheerleading Competitions.
Yva Lauren Cao Celebrated Cameron Boozer and Duke’s ACC Championship Win
Despite her loyalty to Miami, when it comes to Cameron Boozer, Yva Lauren Cao celebrates her conference rival Duke’s victories. As Duke won the ACC title ahead of the NCAA Tournament, she was seen supporting her boyfriend and wearing a Cameron Boozer shirt.
Miami was eliminated by Purdue earlier in the tournament, and this means that she can now fully cheer Cameron Boozer for the rest of the tournament.
