Top 5 moments From the 2025 March Madness

    Florida’s Win

The climax of the whole tournament was the moment the buzzer went off in Texas on Monday. Florida had come from 12 points behind to win the national championship, their third title in the program’s history. Florida’s run to the title was nothing short of remarkable, and they absolutely got their reward at the end.

    Uconn’s Upset

UConn is a back-to-back champion, and they entered this year’s tournament with the aim of securing a three-peat. However, their bid fell short after a thrilling 77-75 loss to No. 1 seed Florida in the second round, thus ending their 13-game NCAA tournament win streak.

    Maryland’s Buzzer-Beater

In the second round, Maryland’s Derik Queen showed some clutch genes by hitting a buzzer-beater against Colorado to advance to the Sweet 16. Maryland was one point down with 3.6 seconds when head coach Kevin Willard called a timeout.

Maryland gave the ball to Queen, who drove to the rim to score a bucket at the last second, sending the arena into a frenzy.

    St. John’s Upset

One of the major upsets at the 2025 NCAA Tournament happened when the No. 10 Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the No. 2 seed St. John’s Red Storm 75-66, ending St. John’s dream season in the Round of 32.

St. John’s, led by Rick Pitino, had won the Big East regular season title and the Big East Tournament title. They came into the tie heavily favored.

    BYU’s rise

Prior to Kevin Young’s appointment, BYU had been struggling as a basketball program. The program had not made it past the round of 32 since 2011. Young recruited four of the nine highest-rated recruits in BYU history, and they put together an impressive run this year.

BYU defeated 11-seed VCU and number three seed Wisconsin to advance to just the sixth Sweet 16 appearance in program history,y where they eventually lost to Alabama.
