“Kudos to the NCAA”: Lacy and Sketch Incident Draws Fan Reactions As Popular Streamers Get Kicked Out of Illinois Game

The Elite Eight matchup between the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Iowa Hawkeyes turned controversial when two popular Twitch streamers, Lacy and Sketch, were kicked out during the game.

Nick “Lacy” Fosco and Kylie “Sketch” Cox were streaming for their audience when they entered the Toyota Center in Houston. They wanted to share their live game experience with the fans and kept their stream going after they got to their seats.

As per reports, the streamers had paid $6000 for their tickets. Their plan backfired when security spotted them live-streaming the game, which is prohibited. Lacy and Sketch were escorted out of the venue by security personnel.

They kept their stream going while being taken out of the arena. The streamers argued that they weren’t broadcasting the game on the platform and that the camera was focusing on them enjoying the game.

However, the damage was done, and their explanation of the situation didn’t help their case. When a video of the incident was posted on Instagram by a college basketball fan page, fans shared their thoughts on what happened in Houston.

“He was filming the game. Kudos to the NCAA,” a fan wrote.

“Who actually watches those clowns,” a fan wrote.

“it’s literally illegal to bootleg stream,” a fan wrote.

“Get em outta here 😂😂😂 we want to watch the game not see you on my tv streaming that your there,” a fan wrote.

“Dudes annoying, he has people watch what he does for a living and complains about rules,” a fan wrote.

“They got kicked out for streaming, and they allowed him to stream other NCAA games this tournament,” a fan wrote.

Some of their fans argued in the comments that Lacy and Sketch didn’t do anything wrong.

Lacy and Sketch Made a Wild Guess on Why They Were Kicked Out

Even after being escorted out of the venue, Lacy and Sketch kept their stream going and continued talking to their followers. Standing outside the arena, the streamers tried to guess why they were told to leave.

Lacy came up with a reason, which didn’t make sense, but he tried his best to connect the dots.

“This could be a crazy take, do you think it had anything to do with the fact that we had more people watching than in the stadium?” he said.

Sketch, on the other hand, said that if Kai Cenat or IShowSpeed, two of the most popular streamers, were there instead, they wouldn’t have been kicked out due to their popularity.
