Coatesville Area High School forward Colton Hiller continues to develop his game at the high school level, and onlookers are already banking on him to be a future star in the NBA. Hiller is best known to be a knock-down shooter from deep, both through generating his own shot and as a movement shooter running plays.
With this, Hiller has garnered interest early in his career from college basketball programs, as he has the potential to become a three-level scorer. In fact, Hiller has already been compared to NBA standouts, including Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel. In the 2025-26 NBA season, Knueppel was named as the runner-up for the Rookie of the Year award after he broke some first-year NBA records from the three-point line.
College recruitment insider Paul Biancardi then recently said during a podcast appearance that Hiller’s game reminds him a lot of Knueppel’s.
“Colton Hiller, about 6’7″, guard out of Pennsylvania. This dude, Danny, shot maker. His comparison for me, when I watch him play, I see Kon Knueppel. He is that type of shooter. He’s got the three-point shot down, off the catch, off the dribble. Then he has the shot fake, one dribble pull-up, shot fake, drive it,” Biancardi said.
With the comparison to Kon Knueppel, Colton Hiller will have to make his name first at the collegiate level before vying for the NBA. Currently, several teams have already sent out offers to Hiller. These offers include powerhouse programs such as the Oregon Ducks, the Villanova Wildcats, and the Alabama Crimson Tide, to name a few. Hiller is currently a part of the class of 2028 and is nationally ranked as the third-best five-star prospect.
Paul Biancardi detailed how Colton Hiller makes his three-point shot the greatest skill in his repotoire
The high praise by Paul Biancardi on Colton Hiller is backed by how the Coatesville, PA native continues to develop as a reliable shooter. Biancardi also detailed how Hiller’s gravity and ability to manipulate defenses have helped him become such a great shooter. Along with this, Biancardi praised Hiller’s intangibles, resulting in him being able to rebound the ball well.
“ So he utilizes his shot to create gravity, to create closeouts, and then he takes advantage of bad defense. Terrific player, plays really hard, PSA Cardinals. And, he rebounds. Like, he does more than just shoot, but that’s his greatness, is his three-point shot,” Biancardi explained. (0:26)
