According to the CFN Strength of Schedule, the Louisiana 2024 football schedule is one of the easiest in the Sun Belt. Only the Texas State Bobcats have an easier schedule. The two teams meet this season, but more on that later. They ease into the 2024 campaign by welcoming the Grambling State Tigers to Cajun Field before traveling to new FBS outfit Kennesaw State.
The out-of-conference schedule becomes a more difficult proposition after the first bye week, with a visit from the Tulane Green Wave and a trip to Winston-Salem to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. However, the former Cotton Bowl champions are going through a transitional phase, and Wake Forest is coming off a difficult campaign, so it could be a lot worse.
A first glance at the Sun Belt element of the Louisiana 2024 football schedule makes you question how it can be deemed one of the easiest. They’ll face all the familiar faces that usually contend for a conference crown. However, facing the Troy Trojans, South Alabama Jaguars, and Appalachian Mountaineers at home somewhat dilutes those fixtures’ difficulty.

A road game double-header with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and Texas State Bobcats sandwiching their second bye week will be a difficult test, but trips to the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and the “Battle on the Bayou” being on ULM territory give them two winnable away fixtures. Double-digit wins might not be possible, but a winning record certainly could be.
