According to the CFN Strength of Schedule, the UConn 2024 football schedule is one of the easiest in the country. Only the Air Force Falcons have a less difficult slate of games to navigate in the upcoming season than the Huskies, giving the program a possibility of returning to bowl eligibility after missing out last fall.
On the face of it, scheduling four Power Five programs as an FBS Independent doesn’t seem like a recipe for an easy schedule, especially given that three of those games — Syracuse, Duke, and Maryland — are on the road in ACC and Big Ten territory. However, all three of those teams, plus their other “big-time” game against Wake Forest, are teams not contending for a title.
Seven of the games on the UConn 2024 football schedule will be played at Rentschler Field, giving the Huskies home-field advantage for a good chunk of their matchups. They spend almost two months without a road game, during which time they face three AAC schools (FAU, Temple, and Rice), Georgia State of the Sun Belt, Buffalo of the MAC, and the game against Wake.

Feasibly, the chunk of enough wins to reach the postseason should come from that home stretch. Road games at the UAB Blazers and UMass Minutemen on either side of the Syracuse game are another two winnable games in the quest to get to six wins. The Huskies have never faced the Blazers but are on a two-game streak against the Minutemen, their final game of the year.
