South Alabama starting cornerback Lardarius Webb Jr. has officially entered the transfer portal in the spring window. He’s hoping for a new opportunity and, more importantly, a fresh start. Webb is a fifth-year senior with one year of eligibility remaining.
Starting 12 of 13 games for the Jaguars last season after transferring from Oklahoma State, the 5-foot-9, 168-pound Opelika native picked up 41 tackles, three pass breakups, and two picks. Webb is also the son of Baltimore Ravens legend Lardarius Webb Sr. So, where might he end up?

Top Transfer Portal Landing Spots For CB Lardarius Webb Jr.
Many teams should and likely will consider Webb Jr.’s name. His previous offers, family connections, and team needs provide a solid framework for projecting his next destination. Here are the five schools that best suit Webb Jr.
Colorado Buffaloes
The Colorado Buffaloes are expected to look for some defensive players via the transfer portal this year. This comes mainly after one of their best players, cornerback (and wide receiver) Travis Hunter, is hitting the NFL Draft.
Webb Jr. could be a good way to begin mitigating the damage that Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes will feel with the loss of some of their star defensive players like Hunter. Learning under a great former NFL player and current NFL legend, Coach Prime, could be too good for Webb Jr. to pass up.
Arizona Wildcats
Webb Jr. could find his way to the Arizona Wildcats via the transfer portal. It may not be too far fetched to think that the Wildcats and what they have to offer could entice Webb Jr., and more importantly, the Wildcats could be very interested in obtaining a player like Webb Jr. via the portal.
Arizona’s secondary suffered due to multiple departures to the portal, and Webb Jr. could chip in as a depth player, maybe even pushing for a starting position. If Webb Jr. hopes to have an immediate impact, going to a team like the Wildcats could bring him closer to his ultimate goal.
TCU Horned Frogs
Similarly to Arizona, TCU could be in the market for a player like Webb Jr. coming out of the transfer portal. Despite growing up in Alabama, Webb Jr. could remain down south in Texas with a big spot right away with the Horned Frogs football team.
Following an abysmal defensive performance last season, the Horned Frogs are attempting to strengthen their back end. Webb Jr.’s experience at cornerback, learning under his father, could help push him into the locker room with a sense of leadership. With TCU known to produce NFL-ready defenders, Webb Jr. could want to follow that path.
California Golden Bears
If my team on this list needs defensive support, it’s California. The Golden Bears have a fragile back end, and injuries and poor play have left the coaching staff struggling to find help.
Webb Jr. could not only add some depth, but could have the potential to earn a starting job relatively quickly. Simply put, California needs defense and requires some strong defenders. Webb Jr. could be everything they want in some transfer portal help.
Alabama Crimson Tide
The Alabama Crimson Tide are a dark-horse team to acquire the services of Webb Jr. While they’re usually one of college football’s top teams, their defense has let them down a bit in recent years, and they could be looking to bolster that to get back to the promised land in 2025-26.

What makes this a strong landing spot that Webb Jr. could end up in is that he’s from Alabama. He’s been playing for South Alabama, but a move up north may not be too far-fetched. The Crimson Tide rule college football in Alabama, and a chance to play for one of the historically best football teams in all of college could be too good for Webb Jr. to pass up.
Webb Jr. is only in his early college football career. However, he possesses the reputation, experience, and potential to make an impact anywhere. His father, Ladarius Webb Sr., has shown he is one of the best to do it in the NFL, and his son is now looking to follow in his footsteps.
