The PGA Tour is traveling to Tampa Bay area with Valspar Championship 2026 this weekend. The final outing of this season’s Florida Swing is set to tee off on Thursday, March 19 at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort in Palm Harbor. The non-signature event will see 133-135 players teeing up for the $9.1 million purse.
The Valspar Championship field will feature seven of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) top 20 players including the likes of World No.7 Xander Schauffele. Unsurprisngly, the two-time major winner is also the outright favorite to win the weekend. The American Ryder Cupper starts in the competition with +1100 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Schauffele leads the odds list after managing a solo third at TPC Sawgrass last weekend. It is pertinent to note that the 10-time PGA Tour winner has a T5 and a pair of T12 finishes in three appearances at Copperhead. While the 2024 Open champion tops the odds list, The Players’ runner-up Fitzpatrick trails him with +1300 odds. The Englishman’s T5 finish here in 2022 makes him one of the best picks for the weekend.
Notably, event’s reigning champion Viktor Hovland sits third on the odds list. Having managed three consecutive top 15 finishes this season, the Norwegian will be eyeing his first win of the year this weekend. Akshay Bhatia, who finished T17 here last year, is the next best bet with +1900 odds. The World No.22 golfer shares the odds with last year’s Valspar Championship runner-up Justin Thomas.
Having returned from an injury, the 16-time Tour winner will be keen to register his first win since the 2025 RBC Heritage last April. The top-five will be trailed by the likes of PGA Tour power rankings topper Jacob Bridgeman (+2000), Jordan Spieth (+2500), Brooks Koepka, Patrick Cantlay and Ryo Hisatsune, among others. Ben Griffin (+3300), Nicolai Højgaard, Sahith Theegala (+3500) and Keegan Bradley (+4500) are some long shot picks for the event.
