The PGA Tour is returning to its headquarters to host one of its most important events of the season, the Players Championship. A total of 120 players are gearing up to compete in this enormous event, with a prize pool of $25 million, one of the largest on the circuit. Things are looking good for the event at the TPC Sawgrass, and the Power Rankings for the event have also been announced for fans.
Scottie Scheffler, the World No. 1 golfer, has once again topped the list, as he looks to win his third Players Championship. He is not alone in his pursuit of this winning third Players Championship, as Rory McIlroy, the World No. 2 and second on the Power Rankings, also has two wins at the TPC Sawgrass, and as the defending champion, he will be seeking to win this tournament for the third time in his career. Jack Nicklaus is the only golfer in history to have won the Players Championship three times.
Trailing only Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa is currently ranked third in the Power Rankings. Morikawa has already won a signature tournament during the 2026 season, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Following that, he finished in the top ten at both the Genesis Invitational and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
