LIV Golf is facing some serious setbacks in the 2026 season, as big golfers on the circuit are considering making a jump to the PGA Tour. Earlier this year, Brooks Koepka had already made the decision to join the PGA Tour, and it looks like Patrick Reed is also considering the same move. The golfer recently gave an interview to Golf Digest, in which he expressed his desire to participate in every world tour possible.

Patrick Reed claims that he already plays on three tours (LIV Golf, DP World Tour, and Asian Tour), and that if he had the opportunity, he would like to play on the PGA Tour, too. In 2025, the golfer proved his availability to different tours by competing in 32 events, including 14 LIV Golf events, four majors, ten DP World Tour tournaments, and four Asian Tour events.

According to Golf Digest, Reed explained,

“I mean, of course, if it were up to me, I’d play everywhere. I’m already playing on three tours, why not add one more? I always enjoyed my time out there on the PGA Tour. Let’s be honest, out there, it’s the best tour in the world. Look at what they’ve done in golf … I could see myself playing there at some point again. But right now, you just never know; everything’s so fluid.”

Reed has been with LIV since 2022, and he has been a key member of 4Aces GC from their inaugural season on the circuit. He is also one of the talented golfers who managed to wear the green jacket at Augusta National. The golfer won the Masters in 2018, but he is still not eligible for the PGA Tour’s new Returning Members Program, through which Brooks Koepka made his comeback.

The golfer also responded to this, suggesting that if the Returning Members Program (major winners or President Cup winners since 2022 can come back after paying a fine) had permitted him to rejoin, he would have considered it.

Patrick Reed has three tournaments scheduled on the DP World Tour, and he recently addressed the major question of whether LIV Golf will let him compete on the DPWT. In an interview with The Telegraph, the golfer said that LIV Golf will not fire him if he plays throughout the world because it ultimately promotes the circuit.

    The 35-year-old golfer stated,

“I always plan on showing my support on this tour, and it’s not going to stop me. Starting this year, any fines or anything like that will go on the players, not on LIV. Right now, playing [these three] DP World Tour events [before the LIV season starts Feb. 4], I’m not getting fined. Me travelling and playing around the world … it helps this tour, but also it’s something I’ve always held true to my heart and wanted to do.”

Reed also stated that he has always wanted to be a “worldwide player,” which is why he is looking forward to playing in new places.
