Tiger Woods’ availability has been a major question mark in recent weeks. The golfer has teased his return multiple times, but no date has been set for when it will take place. Not only in competitive golf, but so far this season, Woods has not even participated in the TGL as a player, preferring to attend TGL nights solely to support and cheer on his team.

Talking about the March 1 edition of TGL night, Woods has yet to be announced to play. The 82-time PGA Tour winner is expected to retain his non-playing position and will merely be sidelined. The golfer’s return rumors began following the 2026 Genesis Invitational, where, as the host of the tournament, Woods attended a special pre-tournament news conference. There, he talked about his return and said that he is just around the bend and might return at any time.

Woods even claimed that the 2026 Masters Tournament could potentially feature him in the field. The last time he appeared at a TGL news conference was on February 2, and there too he stated that his return to TGL is something he does not know about, but he enjoys watching his team, and others play the game. According to Asap Sports, he said,

“Playing here? I don’t know. I like watching these guys. As far as competitive golf, it’s still some time.”

Apart from that, Tiger Woods’ comeback is scheduled to take place on the PGA Seniors Tour, as he turned 50 in December 2025, making him eligible to compete on that circuit. While all eyes are on the golfer’s return, the Amateur Tour recently paid him a huge tribute.

Tiger Woods had one of the biggest amateur careers on the USGA tour, and in honor of his legacy, they have opted to write his name on medals and trophies awarded to winners of the US Amateur Championship. This new iconic medal will be awarded to tournament champions beginning this season, the 126th edition of the competition.

Woods also responded to this massive tribute to him that the USGA has played a significant role in his life and helped him become who he is. He described how the tour helped him grow not only as a golfer, but also as a terrific person. According to CBSSports.com, the 15-time major champion noted,

“The USGA and its championships have played an enormous role in my life. The U.S. Junior Amateur and U.S. Amateur were defining moments in my development, both as a golfer and as a person. To be recognized in this way is incredibly humbling, and I hope it inspires young players to chase their dreams and appreciate the history and values of the game.”

Tiger Woods competed on the amateur circuit between 1991 and 1996 before turning professional and dominating the main circuit.
